Mail Phrases

My friend's often ask the meaning of phrases in Japanese
business mail so I decided to make a section for phrases as well.

Occasionally I will see in business letter's something that resemble's the following.

"平素は格別のご高配を賜り、厚く御礼を申し上げます。"

This a a common opening statement, and can be roughly translated
into the following in English.

"We deeply thank you for your continued patronage."

格別の - exceptional
ご高配を - (Your)Consideration/Care

厚く - Gratefully
御礼 - Gratitude/Apprecation

申し上げます - We are honored to tell you.
